Resolution:

At PhotoScanning.ca, we offer two resolutions to scan printed photographs to - 300 and 600 DPI. The resolution of the photo is not a factor of the quality of the photo, but rather the size and information stored in the photo. To determine what resolution you'll need for your project, it is important to keep your end use in mind. 300 DPI is perfect for viewing, emailing, posting to Facebook / Online, or making slideshows. 600 DPI is preferable when you'd like more flexibility with your files, such as editing, cropping, making photo books, or archiving in the highest resolution possible. Scanning above 600 DPI is possible, but is not recommended - the additional resolution of scanning at 1200 DPI does not provide "enough" benefits to justify the price increase in 99.9% of situations!

You will receive an email alerting to you the specifics of your job, along with an estimated completion date. Your order will be carefully scanned by our experienced scanning technicians, and all originals will be returned to you with your digital files. All orders are provided on 2 identical DVD's - one to keep at home, and one to keep offsite for further protection.
